Contacting Insurers Support
Framework of general information regarding insurers to make a claim.
- You will need your Policy number and the contact Telephone number of your providers claims line.
- The Fire Response Service (FRS) or council staff in attendance will provide you with an incident number which can be used as evidence and the attending personnel as witnesses.
- Fully document and evidence any damage.
– Take photos BEFORE any clean up or moving of items.
– Take close up and wide shots.
– Include all exterior damage and any affected areas.
– Consider using video recordings also.
- Most policies include ‘prompt notification’ of any incidents to insurers. This is to ensure the property is secured and no further damage takes place.
